2019 April Fools' Roundup

2019 April Fools' Roundup

Each year beverage companies try to one-up each other on the best April Fools’ Day prank product. Here is the Nick Drinks round-up of our favorites.

Bota Box – Radio-Controlled Wine

Have my wine delivered to me via an old Wii joystick…sure. Nice work Bota Box.

Glen Moray – Eau de Moray

Glen Moray scotch with a pretty good idea. Make perfume that smells like scotch. It’s basically scotch in a bottle that you can spray on yourself (or drink).

Aldi UK – Strange Infusions

Aldi UK has some budget spirits that never come to the US but maybe these should stay overseas. Cheesy Nacho gin?

The Onion – Bin Laden’s Vineyard

The Onion, king of toeing and crossing the lines, provides a story on the downfall of the Bin Laden Vineyards.

Jameson – Catchmates

Playing off their caskmates series of Irish Whiskey’s, Jameson presents Catchmates.

HopCat – Growlittle

The most adorable growler ever from HopCat.

Elijah Craig – Coffee Pods

These exist for other brands but Elijah Craig took their own spin on it. Presenting the Coffee Pods.

Fernet Branca – Perfume

Glen Moray beat you to the joke on this one. But Fernet Branca did a clean execution and graphic.

Deep Eddy Vodka – Tapatio infusion

Is this a dig on George Dickel’s Tabasco Whiskey? Deep Eddy Vodka presents their Tapatio-infused vodka. I’d try it.

Third Space – Glow-in-the-Dark

Third Space Brewing, out of Milwaukee, presents their new Glow-in-the-dark beer featuring jellyfish yeast.

The Whisky List – GoT Bronn

The Whisky List has extended the limited edition Game of Thrones whiskey series by one with the House of Bronn.

Clement – Sugarcane Vodka

Vodka is so hot these days. Rhum agricole producer Clement is releasing their Sugarcane vodka today.

R. Jelinek – Potato Brandy

Why make brandy out of grapes when you can make it out of potatoes? R. Jelinek is that first brave company to do so.

Pilsner Urquell – Hops Potato Chips

Hopped potato chips? Not the weirdest flavor I’ve tried. Pilsner Urquell pushing the bounds.

Bell’s – 5L 4-pack

6 bottles not enough Hopslam for you. How about 4Ls in a mini-keg pack? Bell’s Brewing on this packaging innovation.

Hidden Spring – New Screw Caps

As a left-handed individual, I approve this. Thank you to Hidden Spring Winery for producing both right-hand and left-hand screw tops.

SodaStream – SodaStreamME

SodaStream went the extra mile by enlisting Astronaut Scott Kelly to share their newest invention in Self-Carbonation, the SodaStreamME.

Chilgrove Spirits – Dog Gin

English producer, Chilgrove Spirits, came out with gin for dogs. The ABV is 0% and it’s bone dry. Get it?
