Detroit Cocktail Classic Week 2017

In it’s 4th year, the Detroit Cocktail Classic is aggressively fighting for the title of best cocktail event in Detroit. This year it is going from one main event to 17 supporting events plus the Grand Tasting. Even the tasting is going from one shed at Eastern Market to two.

I’ll be attending a number of events but specifically, I’ll be judging the cocktail competition at Detroit City Distillery on Monday and attending the Haus Alpenz dinner at Takoi on Thursday.

Odds are good you have never heard of Haus Alpenz. They are one of the coolest importers of unique spirits such as Smith & Cross Rum, Batavia-Arrak van Oosten, Velvet Falernum, Cardamaro, Hayman’s Gin, Cappelletti and the list goes on. If you have had a few craft cocktails, you likely have had one of their products and not even known it.

I was on the news talking about the event. Above is the link to the segment.

This was a good sign from 2016. Everywhere you go booze.

I encourage you to check out the event. It will be the highlight of the year.

Budmo!
