I’m a huge fan of Bespoke Post and was ecstatic when I found out their July delivery was a cocktail theme. I believe I already spoke about this on the blog but to remind everyone they sent an aging kit and a set of Sempli Cocktail Tumblers. I selected a Deshler, a WWI era cocktail, for the first aged cocktail. It recommended 10 days.
On the 10th day (sounds very Biblical) I opened the bottle.
Taste: Great mellow taste. I strongly recommend tasting the cocktail each day so you notice the journey it’s making. It takes a great cocktail with great ingredients and brings everything together.
Sourcing: The hardest thing is finding the aging kit. You could make something like this yourself but that is another post.
Prep: This is a fairly easy cocktail to make. I give it a 3 because of the patience to wait for the cocktail to age. 10 days is a long time especially for someone like me who is very impatient.
I was wondering if you happened to have the recipe for the Deshler that Bespoke provided (makes larger than a single serving. If you would be so kind as to pass that on, I would be most grateful.

To fill a 375ml bottle for aging the recipe is as follows:
4oz Rye Whiskey
4.5oz Dubonnet Rouge
1/2oz Cointreau
1/4 oz or ~8 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters
This could be scaled down if you weren’t aging it and just wanted to try the cocktail. Cheers!
