I was tasting some rums with a friend the other day and purposely put an 18 year old rum before a 12 year old rum in our tasting order. Why? I thought the 12 year old, from El Dorado was much more interesting and tasty than the 18 year old from Flor De Cana. Jason Wilson, of Boozehound, wrote an article about age being just a number. This is in reference to whiskey but I get where he is going.
